The collection encompasses vehicles from nine decades of Porsche history, from the earliest and rarest exhibits from the founding days in Gmünd to modern sports cars. These include, among others, 356s, early 911s, and legendary racing cars.

A focus is placed on the oldest and rarest pieces from the period between 1948 and 1951. Many exhibits are handcrafted, unique items and show the development of Porsche from its beginnings to the present day.

The Porsche 356, the first mass-produced vehicle bearing the Porsche name, was built in Gmünd between 1948 and 1951. The museum preserves this heritage and brings the history of its birthplace to life.
